How to Hack a Dead Laptop Battery

As far as we know, the new 6 cells laptop battery die after 600-800 charging and discharging circles. Then we spend $80 or more to buy a replacement. Its too expensive, and these dead laptop batteries can pollute our environment if we dropped them random.
  1. First take the dead laptop battery out of your laptop.
  2. Then take the battery apart.
  3. You will see 6 cells connected by wire. Carefully examine every cells by a multimeter to ensure the cells are powerless.
  4. Use a electric welding tool to separate cells from wires. Then take them out of battery shell.
  5. Then welding the new cells together by consulting the dead cells combination and blueprint.
  6. Put the new cells into battery pack and connect the wires and cells.
  7. In the end put the two pieces of battery back together. Cool down it for about 48 hours.
  8. Now hack dead laptop battery complete. You will found that the new battery works again.

How to Fully Discharge a Laptop Battery

Discharging the Battery Pack Disabling Hibernation To fully discharge the battery pack, disable Hibernation temporarily.
  1. Select the Power Meter icon on the taskbar, or select Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > Power Options > Power Schemes

  2. Write down the 3 settings in the Plugged In column and the settings in the Running on Batteries column, so you can reset them after calibration. settings in the Running on Batteries column, so you can reset them after calibration.

  3. Select the drop-down lists and set all 6 options in both columns to Never.

  4. Select the OK button.

  5. Disconnect the notebook from the external power source, but do not turn off the notebook.

  6. Run the notebook on battery power until the battery pack is fully discharged. The battery light begins to blink when the battery pack has discharged to a low-battery condition. When the battery pack is fully discharged, the power/Standby light turns off and the notebook shuts down.

How to Extend the Life of a Laptop Battery

Over time, the rechargeable batteries in a laptop wear down with repeated charging and discharging. Your usage patterns and habits can make a difference in how long it takes for the battery to wear down, though. Here's how to avoid having to replace those costly laptop batteries as often.
(1)
Remove the battery pack from the laptop if you do not use your laptop for extended periods of time (a week or more).
(2)
Do not expose the battery to high heat or freezing temperatures. Do not leave your battery in your car in the summer. Hot batteries discharge very quickly, and cold ones can't create as much power.
(3)
Plug your laptop charger adapter into a UPS and not directly into a power outlet or surge protector.
(4)
If you have a nickel-metal hydride battery, completely drain and recharge the battery once a month to maximize its capacity to hold a charge.
(5)
Fully charge new battery packs before use. A new battery needs to be fully charged and discharged (cycled) a few times before it can condition to full capacity.
(6)
For laptops that work as a desktop replacement, reinstall the battery every 3-4 weeks and allow it to discharge fully .
(7)
Do not leave a battery in a laptop while using an electrical outlet for long periods of time. This will keep the battery in a constant state of charging up and that will reduce the life cycle of the battery.
(8)
Adjust screen brightness. If you use Windows on your laptop, there is a Power Options option in Control Panel that helps you optimize power usage. You can set the laptop to become inactive when not in use for quite some time. It is also possible to adjust the display brightness on the laptop. This may allow prolonged battery life.
(9)
Program Overload. Run only the programs you are using at the time of use. Programs that run in the background use more system resources and drain laptop battery life.
(10)
Keep a spare battery: A good idea is to have a spare battery. Batteries are affordable these days and easily purchased online from electronics sites. Have at least one fully charged at all times for a quick battery change. Some laptops can run with two batteries. Some laptops are also compatible with external batteries that can be easily added when necessary.

How to Build a Solar Powered Laptop Charger

  1. Start small until you understand what you are doing and work your way up. Read more on the solar cell they are interested in using and read up on panel design techniques. Basically the solar cells must be mounted inside a housing which has to be sealed from the elements to prevent dust and condensation from forming on the cells which will reduce the power output severely.

Ascertain exactly what your power requirements are. If you are designing for a specific device, read the label on your device or its power supply; this will specify the voltage and watts required to charge your device. If you are trying to design a charger for multiply devices, you must use the maximum voltage and wattage of the most power hungry device in your target group. - it will require a sizable panel to charge multiple device simultaneously. If this is your goal, design the charger to produce 110 or 220, whichever is your normal power line voltage. Then just use the standard chargers and plug them into the panel - this will save you a lot of design time for making multiple d.c. voltages available for different devices, it will also give you more flexibility in adding future device.
  3. 3
If you are designing for a single voltage/wattage combo, i.e., 12volt 12 watts, the conversion of Watts to Amps is governed by the equation Amps = Watts/Volts:

    • For example, 12 watts/12 volts = 1 amp - so there is your design spec, you need to build a device that will output 12 volts - if you want to charge the device directly from the solar panel without using the power adaptor that came with your device, you also need to understand what sort of charge cycle your battery requires. Different battery chemistries require different charging techniques. This wiki explains some of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trickle_charging.
  4. 4
Read up on parallel and series wiring - which is not very complicated - basically if you tie the "+" of one solar cell to the "-" of the next solar cell and repeat this your volage will be a multiple of the number of cells tied together - ie if each cell is .5 volts and you tie 24 cells together like this, you will have a panel that is wired in series and produces 12 volts (24 x .5) - this does not multiply wattage/amperage, only voltage. So if your cells output .5 volts and 10 watts, your panel will output 12 volts and 10 watts. To increase wattage you tie multiply panels together using parallel wiring, in parallel wiring you tie the "+" wires from the other panels together and the "-" wires together with the "-" wires from the other panels - do not tie the plus and minus together or you will short out your panels. So if you tie two panels together (each panel is wired in series) in parallel, you will now have an output of 12 volts and 20 watts. You use this technique to combine cells into panels to produce your desired output voltage/amperage/wattage per your spec.
  5. 5
If you are building an ac voltage panel, add an inverter which converts d.c. to a.c. and supplies a clean sine wave so that any device you plug into the panel will operate properly.

How to Impress a Girl

(1)Be well-groomed. Brush your hair, shower, wash your face use deodorant, a little cologne, and apply acne medicine daily (if you have a problem with your skin). Don't wear your pants off your butt, often called "sagging", it's not that attractive to the majority of girls. This is essential if you are even going to approach an attractive girl . Wear clean, attractive clothes that fit. (If in doubt, get an older sister or close female friend to help you in this department.) Don't wear skin tight clothes, but don't wear clothes that are too baggy either, girls hate that.
(2)Have a great attitude. Be fun to hang around with, easy to laugh with, and be outgoing. Just don't be full of yourself. A girl may like an overly cocky guy at first, but eventually, she will find it selfish. Don't try to impress everyone - girls like humble guys. At the same time, a sense of humor is always good. Girls love it when guys can make them laugh.
(3)Show respect. If you respect everyone and give them their space, they'll all respect you. With girls, it works even better. If they see you respecting everyone, and not getting pushed around while you're at it, they will be reassured that you will treat them right. Be kind to all.
(4)Have good conversations. Try to aim for you both to be speaking half of the time, but make sure that you are saying something worthwhile; it's not attractive when only one person talks endlessly or when they say bad words. Another thing to watch for is her attention. If she isn't paying complete attention, do not repeat yourself several times. This makes girls feel you are desperate, and usually annoying.
(5)Show interest in her - let her talk. The #1 mistake when talking to a girl is focusing on yourself. Girls are way more comfortable when they talk about common interests. Ask about their interests, hobbies, favorite books, music, etc. If she asks you a question, answer it in a few, short sentences and then redirect the question back at her. This engages her in the conversation. When in doubt, compliment her like your hair looks nice today. Even if a girl does not like you yet, complimenting her will make her feel good about herself and think positively about you.
(6)Try flirting! Don't be obsessive! If you both make eye contact, do not be the one to look away, but do not stare for too long. When you both make eye contact, just give a slight smile. Touch her arm or shoulder for a few seconds. Physical contact is a great way to show you're interested. If she seems uncomfortable, do not do it again.
(7)She may look away and she might blush a little. Be careful though; you don't want to stare her down. A good move is to look away, and if she likes you she will shoot you glances. Watch for that. And be courteous. Open doors. Give gifts. Do kind things. Girls love that.
(8)Respect her friends and their ideas and opinions. Always speak highly of her and never talk trash about her. It will damage her reputation and yours. Hopefully then it will work both ways - she will be tolerant of your friends. Be careful not to compliment her friends too much, however. Example: You may say "Your friends seem cool. We should hang out with them and my friends some time, I think they'd get along". You may not say "Sally is so hot. She has the nicest eyes". You may think getting her jealous is a good idea, but it just makes them angry.
(9)Have your friends be nice to her It's a fantastic thing when your friends don't make a total fool of you. Warn them ahead of time and avoid topics pertaining to embarrassing moments of your past or awkward jokes that make very little sense. Don't introduce her to your friends right away though. You want her to like YOU, not start dating one of your buddies.
(10)Be polite to her parents. Be kind to everyone, especially them. Don't be too over-the-top charming with the parents, however, or they'll think that you have something to hide.
(11)Don't criticize her. Unless she asks for constructive criticism. And even then she probably wants you to compliment her.
(12)Be romantic, but not over the top. If you've been dating for a while you may attempt a grand romantic gesture, otherwise, you'll look like a stalker. It's also okay to be a little cheesy, like giving her a bouquet of roses and a loving poem. It may sound like a bad idea, but girls will find it thoughtful if it came from your heart. A better idea than being cheesy is to really LISTEN to her & remember things she likes. Then take her somewhere she's mentioned wanting to go, or buy her the books she's been wanting & hide a little note inside. Flowers & candy are really cliche & don't really mean much since anyone can just buy someone flowers. Showing you've been listening to her wants & needs goes a LOT farther than roses!!
(13)Start talking to her casually. If you don't know her, make friendly conversation. Ask for the time, and/or compliment her watch. Avoid throwing too many compliments about clothes or shoes around, that might make women think that you are homosexual as many gay men are fashion-forward.
(14)Do not play "hard to get". Sure, you'll get their attention for a day or two then after a while, the girl will end up frustrated, and she'll think you don't find interest in her anymore.
(15)Be careful with what you say. Do not discuss bodily functions in her presence, or make jokes of a sexual nature unless she starts doing so. Also, don't discuss anything gross or inappropriate. She'll get grossed out.
(16)Hum in her presence She might think of you whenever she hears that song. And she'll probably be impressed by your good taste in music. Some girls have actually dumped guys or stopped liking guys when they insulted the music they like. So, it's OK not to like her music, but don't be insulting her favorite singer(s)/band(s)! Try to figure out what music you BOTH like.
(17)Start an inside joke with her! She will feel included and become closer to you. It also gives you an easy-to-come-up-with conversation starter. Try not to overuse it and kill the joke.
(18)End later meetings with a hug, or plans to meet some other time, if you can. Make sure to tell her that you enjoyed her company.
(19)Tell her that you "like her" frequently. Ask her out.
(20)Touch her occasionally, like on the shoulder or hand. Be sure do not touch her private parts, however.
(21)Opposites attract. Be a courageous gentleman, not coy like a lady might be. Stand up for her if something is wrong.
(22)Show your funny side. A lot of women look for sense of humor in a partner. You should however be mindful of their reactions to your jokes and avoid offensive humor. Unless they like that. Find out if she likes comedy. If she watches Comedy Central, find out her favorite comedian or favorite impression and try it out for her.
(23)Make her feel good. This is a really good thing that impresses girls. They love it when you let them know you care for them. If she's sad, just simply put your arm around her neck. Make her happy, at least as much as you can. Flirt with her, hold her hand it will make her feel special.
(24)Don't ever make fun of your friends around her If you do, it might make her think that you're a jerk. When someone makes fun of other people, it makes a woman wonder what they might be saying about HER when she's not around!!!
(25)Be honest. Do something creative, something extraordinary or something that others never do. That creates a question mark for the girl about you, and it also makes you interesting.
